Hello!
I’m Stacey, aka The Geriatric Gymnast.
I started flipping at 36, and have come a long way, learning so much about myself through the process.

I didn’t flip as a kid. Every skill I know was learned as an adult, so I have a unique perspective about starting gymnastics for the first time in an adult brain and body.
If you’re an adult who has stumbled across this site and are thinking about trying gymnastics, welcome! You’ve come to the right place. This website is dedicated to sharing my journey, my stories, and my community. It’s all growing every day.
Gymnastics has offered me a way of dealing with every aspect of my life: the menopause transition, teaching and coaching, learning new things, managing fear, and leaping out of my comfort zone. Hell, I did my first competition season at 54 and did really well.
I’ve also navigated a lot of injuries along the way. There’s a whole section about that too. I don’t want to make it seem like injuries are inevitable, but… Anyway, I’ve had a bunch of them (some big ones) and have always recovered and returned to training.
Gymnastics has made me stronger and wiser. It has been a gift that keeps giving every day. I’d love to share that gift with you. Maybe it will inspire you as you begin your own journey.
