I’m writing a book!

In July 2024, I was looking at all of my gymnastics blog posts (there were many). I decided to download and organize and add more thoughts into a Word document and see what I could do with them. Long story short, it formed into what I hope will become Geriatric Gymnastics: Flipping, Recovery and Defining Life on My Terms.
Writing books is a long, laborious process. After a developmental edit, I sent it out to a round of beta readers. You can read some of that great feedback here.
After the beta feedback, I sent queries to about 80 literary agents. Alas, to no avail. There were some nice responses, but not what they were looking for in their catalog.
Now, I’m weighing my options: do I try again or just self-publish?
I’ve already self-published two books, available on Amazon:
It’s a hard decision. I believe in this book, because I know how many adults are out there who love gymnastics.
I know that Geriatric Gymnastics will resonate with an even wider audience than that. It just needs the right pathway and push to get there. I’m keeping my mind and heart open to find that path.
As I figure this out, I’ll post my progress. If anyone has ideas, suggestions or connections for me to pursue, let me know in the comment box below!
