This is inspiration I desperately needed today. I had a very frustrating practice last night and thought about calling it quits. I am a 51-year-old returning gymnast (last competed at age 14). Ten years ago, I went to a trampoline park and was able to easily do whatever I wanted — layouts and the like. Not now. Last night, doing a front tuck onto my butt on the tumble trak was my greatest feat. It’s still early in my “comeback” but I find myself feeling defeated more often than not. I read through a lot of your articles and I think I am going to take a step back and focus on fundamentals for the next little bit. Last night I was trying to do a front walkover (because my brain knows how) and they were terrible! I think your fundamentals training suggestions will help. It’s humbling, for sure, but I would rather back up a bit than quit. Again, thank you for your contributions to our community!
